Wednesday night was no disappointment as the Lady T-Wolves and Jags of BV West clawed each other to a 1-1 draw. Unfortunately, the Lady T-Wolves needed a W to secure the first EKL conference championship for the BVSW program. The first half was a slugfest as each team took swipes at each other but no one could establish territorial dominance. In the second half it didn't take West long to draw first blood. As defender bodies were flying so was one solid strike by the Jags in the 6th minute of the half and the Jags took a 1-0 lead. BVSW picked it up after that and began getting some good opportunities. But the best opportunity came with 7:32 remaining in regulation as Gracely Briley was fouled in the box and converted the PK into T-Wolf magic. Unfortunately, the 2 OT periods were just like regulation and no one could deliver a knockout punch and the game ended in a draw. While the team came up short for an EKL championship the opportunity for a 3rd straight appearance in the 5A state title game is still a possibility. The Lady T-Wolves open regional play at home Tuesday evening.
